Throughout my life, I was a typical overachiever, following the natural path to achieve more, become better, and make a difference in the world. I had created a formula for success that helped me accomplish great things. I was doing all the “right things.” I was a wife, a busy mother of two girls, working hard to earn my PhD, serving as president of a nonprofit organization, and teaching school based consulting and college courses. Yet, I found myself working too many hours and disconnected from life. I felt overwhelmed and anxious as I tried to juggle my career and my family life. Each day, I was being pulled in different directions, and I didn’t know how to get it ALL done.

I said ‘Yes’ to every coaching and consulting opportunity to be productive at a rapid pace. I was working 80 hours a week and eventually stopped exercising, limited the hours I slept, and chose not to spend time with friends. I was addicted to motion, but I was stressed while I was getting things done. I lived out of my car and missed the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with my family. Even though I loved the thrill of achieving, I could no longer deny my life wasn’t working.

I was running on fumes and knew something needed to change, but I didn’t know how to approach life differently. I needed someone outside of my life to give me an unbiased opinion. After meeting my coach, Walker Clark, we identified and uncovered what was causing anxiety in my life and then created steps to clear away the obstacles holding me back. Our weekly coaching sessions provided a space to interact and learn how to approach life from a place of empowerment instead of lack. Coaching allowed me to create the conditions for a future that put me in position to make a bigger impact on the world.

I’m proof that a collaborative partnership with a coach can help you create a life of ease, while incorporating all the responsibilities that come with being a partner, parent, and professional. However, it requires asking the right questions and taking the right action. I have developed the ability to do both, and they are the keys to my success.

You are not alone. Collaborate, discover, and achieve with me!
